My 6 favorite piers in California
Redondo Beach Pier
One of the greatest piers during my road trip across the west coast of the United States last summer: the Redondo Beach Pier! And by the way – my favorite one, too! In Redondo Beach you can still find the „real Californian way of life“ without a mass of tourists and the Redondo Beach Pier is also the best address for oceanfront dining or cocktails, watching sea lions, go for open air movies and concerts, or even shopping!
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
For all those who never grow up – Santa Cruz is so much fun and you can hear the roller coaster all time while strolling at the pier and spend your money in one of the surfer shops at the boardwalk!
Manhattan Beach Pier
Next to Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach is also one of the three so called beach cities in the South Bay. Enjoy the endless ocean view and walk barefoot on the sand, which was shipped to Hawaii’s Waikiki beach over a ten-year period.
Santa Monica Pier
As seen in many movies, the Santa Monica Pier is maybe the most famous pier in California and the beach side of Los Angeles. A must visit for all LA visitors and roadtrippers! You can join the Pacific Park, watch fisherman and enjoy the best hot dogs! You will also find the ending mark of one the most famous roads in America – the Route 66 – at the Santa Monica Pier!
Huntington Beach Pier
For all the surfer and wave lovers and watchers in the world: this is your pier!
San Francisco // Pier 39
Last but not least, San Francisco’s Pier 39 may not be missed here! I can still hear the sea lions if i just look at this photo! I can also recommend this pier for Crepes filled with Nutella and hiding for the rain in one the shops at the Pier!
